About Us
Founded in 1895, Kahlenberg Brothers Company is entering its third century of manufacturing. Continuously family owned and managed since its inception, Kahlenberg is currently managed by the fourth generation great-grandsons of founder William R. Kahlenberg.
The original three brothers, William, Otto, and John, began by constructing small vertical engines used for marine and stationary work. From this early beginning the company expanded, eventually marketing and selling its engines across the globe. During World War II, Kahlenberg was the recipient of the Army-Navy "E" (Excellence) Award as the company worked around the clock producing what came to be known as the most reliable marine engines in the fleet.
Several marine accessories have been developed over the years, most notably including Kahlenberg Propellers and Kahlenberg Air Horns. These accessories combined are now the core of Kahlenberg's marine and industrial product line. Kahlenberg Brothers Company has also been providing machining and contract manufacturing services to customers outside of the marine industry since the early 1950s. Please see kahlenbergmachining.com for details regarding contract machining services
As of this writing, the company employs over 35 people, mostly engaged in machining and assembly activity. A growing business, Kahlenberg recently received ISO9001:2000 Certification, and expanded its facility to over 45,000 square feet, including the latest machining equipment and manufacturing systems to better serve customers.
Distributed worldwide, all Kahlenberg products are proudly manufactured in Two Rivers, Wisconsin, U.S.A.
